Pneumonic plague update
Although three have died and a fourth patient was in critical condition as of Tuesday, China seems to have averted potential epidemic in a pneumonic plague outbreak we reported Monday. The incident occurred in the town of Ziketan in Qinghai province.
The total number of patients infected and quarantined was twelve. These included relatives of the first man to die and local medical staff. Reportedly, locals are confident that quick government intervention has contained the outbreak.
